Section: Arabic language
Abstract
Alhough the poetry of Ibn Hamdees has a variety of antonyms , we found a new type that has not been known before ; the Focal Antonym . It is a word that is explicitly similar to another one mentioned in the context and implicitly is a formation of two types of antonyms . Most probably , these two types are positive and negative . And what is new about this types is whenever we delete the word (focal) that form the two types of antonyms, the antonym disappears.
