characteristics of Spatial distribution of rural settlements in Talafer district – Nineveh governorate , using geographic information systems

The research aims to reveal the distribution picture of rural settlements in the Talafar district which is administratively affiliated to Nineveh Governorate , and to find out the patterns of spatial distribution of those settlements by using spatial analysis tools and ststistics measures , and to show the effect of the natural and human geographical factors that painted the final picture of that distribution the stude concluded that the distribution pattern for rural settlements using the proximity link technique is the divergence pattern , where the value of the neighborhood link reached 2.85 , asitis located outside the critical point , which is the null hypothesis and its value ranges between 196 - 196 . The spatial distribution of community services and infrastructure services had an important role in the distribution of rural settlements and defining their middle and median status
