Abstract

Child culture is considered as one of the most important areas which has received a significant attention in our contemporary society. In the light of the information and communication technology revolution, electronic publishing media have involved in an effective and rapid dissemination of culture and have played an active role in shaping childs culture. This study has examined the importance of childhood and dealt with the challenges of the electronic culture , its role in shaping the child's culture and the negative effects it has on the cultural, social, ethical and cognitive structure on the child. Then , a proposed set of recommendations have been presented in light of advantages and disadvantages of the electronic media, with the aim of promoting the role of the family and school in the process of shaping the child's culture, working to change the traditional educational methods and make them commensurate with the intellectual and social development of the child. Finally, taking all the advantages of the positive opportunities that are created by the electronic culture.
