Mosul in the Buyid Period (334 A.H.-447 A.H. / 945 A.D. - 1055 A.D.)
Abstract
Through the stages of its long history, Mosul has played an active and influential role in the events of Iraq and its political history, especially in the eras of challenges and crises it went through, and it was an important element in directing historical events. Its princes and the families that successively managed it played the role of the engine of historical events, due to its political and civilizational weight and its economic importance. Therefore, it was the focus of attention of the forces that controlled the reins of affairs in Baghdad, the seat of the Abbasid Caliphate.
