Poetics of Discourse in Karam Al- Araji's Collection of Short Stories Waiting for a Kitty
Abstract
This research entitled ( Poetics of Discourse in Karam Al- Araji's Collection of Short Stories Waiting for a Kitty ) by Karam Al-Araji " is based on studying the aesthetic approach of the fictionly text by revealing its poetic manifestations and mechanisms in the fictionly discourse. Poetics in general is a linguistic methodology concerned with revealing the characteristics and laws of the literary text. Therefore, the research included a study of four axes, the first: a theoretical introduction to the concept of poetics and narrative discourse, the second: the mechanisms of forming poetics in fictionly discourse, and included four textual mechanisms: encoding, underlining, paradox, Pampering density, and displacement, and the third: the functions of fictionly discourse, and it included four functions: referential, poetic, illusory , and meta-linguistic. The research concluded that poeticity is inherent in the discourse with double efficiency and worked to give it an aesthetic character and activate the potentials of transformation, difference and breadth in its structures and connotations.
