THE PARENTAL IMAGE SCALE AMONG THE STUDENTS OF Al-HAMDANIA UNIVERSITY

The current research aims at measuring the scale of the parental image for the students of Al-Hamdania University,as the parental image is the set of qualities, ideas, and traits that a student has who excels his parents as a result of the methods of socialization (interest, empathy, tolerance, trust, academic status, contradictory treatment) followed by parents since childhood until now with their child, and this image formed by the student may be real. or exaggerated and imaginary
The researcher used the descriptive method in her research and adopted a scale of the parental image by relying on the original version of the scale prepared by (Musa: 2016). The sample numbers amounted to (400) male and female students from the scientific and human it departments (computer - history - Arabic language - mathematics - geography - physical education and sports sciences). The scale consists of five domains (interest and sympathy - tolerance image - trust image - academic image - contradictory image), and the number of items was (28).
The apparent validity of the scale was calculated by presenting it to a group of experts in education and psychology, and their number was (20) experts, and some items were modified, and the percentage of agreement was 80%.
The researcher also calculated the discriminatory power of the scale items, and the distinction was calculated using the T-test for two independent samples, if no item was deleted from the scale, and the highest score on the scale was (84) and the lowest score was (28) with a hypothetical average of (56) and thus the scale is ready for application
The study concluded that the students of Al-Hamdania University enjoy a greater level of the hypothetical mean in the parental image.
