Abstract

The problem of postponing mid-year exams and final exams for the preparatory stage is one of the most important problems facing exams in the Iraqi Ministry of Education, as a result of the differences in the causes of this problem from one stage of study to another and from one branch of study to another, in addition to the fact that the time period plays a major role in the difference in rates. Postponing exams, therefore, it has become necessary for them to be studied in order to find out the real causes behind this problem in exams in order to develop appropriate solutions for it, because the ministrys mission, represented by schools, is to attract students to take exams in a smooth manner and far from the atmosphere that contributes to pushing students to postpone. Because such problems in the educational process are manifestations of educational waste, whether this is at the level of the time specified for the exam or at the level of study materials and exam supplies, therefore it falls upon the Directorate of Education to tighten the procedures in exams for students to take their exam and not postpone it for any reason whatsoever and to take it in The time specified by the directorate and school administration.
Our study dealt with a very important topic that has emerged greatly recently, which is postponing exams, whether in the scientific or literary branch, for the monthly, semi-annual, and final exams. What has been noted in previous years is that students no longer adhere to taking the exams on their specified dates by postponing by going. To health centers to obtain a paper for postponing the exam. Our study used the social survey approach through the questionnaire and interview forms. Our study was divided into two sections, the first of which dealt with the examination system in the preparatory stage and then mentioned the reasons for postponement. As for the second section, we dealt with the field study on the reasons for postponing exams. To reach important conclusions that can contribute to formulating some recommendations and proposals for the authorities responsible for exams so that they are conducted in a positive atmosphere that serves the educational process in Iraqi society, One of the most important results that the research reached is that the main reason for pushing students to postpone exams is because of the difficulty of the academic subject and the inaccuracy of the dates set for exams by the Ministry of Education.
