Narratives of Al-Djazīra in the book (Ta'rikh al-Mawşil) by Abū Zakarīyā al-Azdī (d. 334 AH / 940 AD( (Study in the administrative conditions)
Abstract
The importance of the research revolves around an attempt to study everything related to the al-Djazra and how by Ab Zakary al-Azddealt with it, the Al- Azd is a historian from Mosul who left us part two of the book (the History of Mosul), and that book considered among the books of the local history. It includes information of vital importance, and it provides so many details of the Mosul's conditions since the ending of the Omayyad Era, and the coming of the Abbasids up to (224A.H \838A.D )the year of completing the third part of the above-mentioned book. The information of the book can be divided into political, administrative architectural, and scientific ones. There's no doubt that al- Azd mentioned the term (Al-Djazra) during his tackling of the early phases of the history of Mosul and in many occasions, the term comes within two contexts, i.e., the administrative and political contexts. Therefore, the research problem is related to following up on the administrative developments that occurred in the al-Djazra area according to al- Azds perspective and his book (The History of Mosul).
