Narrative Time in the Stories of Jaber Khalifa Jaber
Abstract
Time is one of the most important components of narrative discourse, and it cannot be dispensed with in constructing narrative events. Because it frames the event and all the elements move inside it according to a chronological sequence, and the use of narrative time with its various techniques in the stories of the Iraqi writer (Jaber Khalifa Jaber) came to reveal the formation of the text structure and the techniques used in its construction and to highlight the aesthetic and artistic levels in his texts. Hence, we divided the research into a theoretical introduction, three sections, and a conclusion. The entrance included defining (the concept of narrative time and its manifestation in the storytelling), and the first section specialized in studying the technology (recall or memorization) in terms of explaining its concept and functions, while the second topic was devoted to the study of (anticipation or Foresight), while the third topic ensured the study of (the techniques of accelerating narrative time) in terms of the technology of deletion and summarization to bypass the events and details that would send boredom and boredom to the reader, and to focus on the important events within the storytelling, and the conclusion came including the most prominent findings of the research.
