This Study deals with apology in Iraq Arabic (henceforth IA) with refernce to its defintion , how to apologize the purpose of apologization , the main apology strategies and subcategorice used by reatspondents , the influence of statuse realatonshipe between the apo logzer and the apologes on the choice of apology exressions and stracegies whether the relation is that of equal / equal or lower / higher or higher / lower ; the impact of some sociolinguistic veriable e.g. sex , ago . status ,education , and situation on apologe choice ; and the most common semantic formulas and experssions of apology frequently used in IA . The study covers all the prmentioned aspects of apology throught an analysis and discssion of the data collected from 100 informants .
