Abstract

The research aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating information and communication technologies (ICT) in order to benefit from the positive advantages they offer for teaching written communication. This study is based on a concrete experience conducted with second-year students of the French language department of the University of Mosul using mainly two digital tools: Genially and Google Forms. The theoretical aspect of the study specifies certain terms by demonstrating the interconnection between ICT tools and the teaching methods followed which are adopted by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In addition, the practical aspect is based on an experience through the preparation of a teaching sheet and its presentation to learners in order to measure the effectiveness of hybrid teaching by integrating ICT.The practical aspect extends to the provision of two questionnaires, one intended for learners and the other intended for teachers of written communication for all levels of the French department. The objective of these two questionnaires is to draw up a complete inventory of the use of ICT in teaching the French language. The data analysis will highlight the relationship between these two platforms (Genially and Google Forms) and the improvement of written communication skills, thus promoting the development of innovative teaching methods that meet the needs of learners. In addition, these data will be an opportunity to measure learners' reactions to this teaching method based on the use of ICT and to measure the extent to which written communication teachers use it.
