Abstract

The role of the Iraqi National Press appeared dearly after the second world war. It treated important aspects of the lives of the Iraqi society particularly the working class who suffered a lot of the deteriorating of their wages in 1946. For this reason the national press put into consideration the workers affairs and urgently asked for constituting unions like the other international unions else where. The press also asked for the development of the working situations as appeared in their main articles. The wages and a better life are also tackled. The national press supported the workes strikes and truly expressed the national conditions in showing the bad practices of the high authorities and their bloody events like Cawar Baghi event. The press also asked for punishing them and dismissing the responsibles. In consequence to that the government started to press their indignity on the Press and arrested the chief editors and presented them to the court for different resons to punish them.
