Abstract

This paper tackles the effect of the deficiency complex on the poet and how it is reflected on his poetry. Bashar Ibn Burd was suffering from blindness and poor as he was out of poverty because he was born in slavery so he felt hatred and hatred towards many people who lived close and he lampooned them in his poems. The blindness was greatest influence in the life of the poet and in his relationship with the others being blind since his birth makes him compatible with himself in his poetry at least he was still proud of himself and detract from others and never showed the contrast with it break in front of them even in the most difficult circumstances. The poet was satisfie with himself and did not show weakness in front of the latter and was keen to be proud of himself and his origin.
