The French position on the Zionist aggression against Lebanon in 2006
Abstract
The Zionist aggression against Lebanon in July 2006 represented a strategic Zionist goal since the withdrawal of its forces from southern Lebanon in May 2000, to eliminate the Lebanese Islamic resistance there, especially after its development and possession of great political and military power, in addition to completing the new American project to control the entire Middle East region, especially after The events of September 11, 2001 in New York, the American occupation of Iraq in 2003, the Syrian-Lebanese political disputes in 2005, and developments in the events of the Palestinian-Zionist conflict at the beginning of 2006, All of these events made France fear for its political and economic interests in Lebanon from American influence, so it sought, during the 2006 aggression, to change its policy according to the requirements and developments of the current circumstances at that time, in an attempt to prevent the Zionist entity and the United States of America from being alone in achieving their strategic goals in Lebanon, and to take real positions. To preserve its interests in Lebanon by assisting the Lebanese government in stopping that aggression and removing the Zionist forces from southern Lebanon with the assistance of the United Nations.
