Abstract

Digital watermarks have recently emerged as a possible solution for protecting the copyright of digital materials. The use of wavelets in image coding has increased significantly over the years, mainly due to the superior properties of wavelets compared with the traditional transforms like the DCT. In this paper a new wavelet-based watermarking algorithm is designed and implemented using the characteristics of an image and the human visual system HVS for invisibility and robustness. For experimental results, we have considered different attacks: JPEG compression, geometric distortions and noising. The results show the good performance of the new proposed method.
