Abstract

(60) (30) () (30) () . 1/10/2006 30/12/2006 (28) (850), (31) . : .This study aims at comparing the deductive method with the inductive method in learning and retaining the Arabic Grammar by the first stage student at the intermediate schools in Mosul city. The researcher has put two hypotheses:1. There is no statistical difference in the total average between the first subject group and the second subject group regarding to the total average test.2. There is no statistical difference in the total marks between students who studied using the deductive method and students who studied using the measuring method regarding the knowledge keeping test.The experiment started in 1/ 10/2006 and ended in 1/ 1/2007. The researcher has prepared a an achievement test containing (28) sections that included various topics. The researcher made sure that the test was inclusive and fair. Semi-partitional method has been used in this test. The test was carried away at the end of the experiment, and after (21) days another test was given to see if the students has still kept their grammatical knowledge.The results show that there is a statistical difference between the total average of the two groups, in favor of the group that used the deductive method. The researcher has recommended several recommendations and suggestions.
