Abstract

Objective: -1- Building a sports anxiety scale for the research sample.2- Adapting the self-esteem scale for the research sample.3- Identifying the degree of sports anxiety for the research sample.4- Identifying the degree of self-esteem for the research sample.5- Identifying the relationship between sports anxiety and self-esteem for players of some team games.- The researchers used the descriptive approach with the correlational survey method. The research community included players of the Iraqi university teams in indoor soccer and volleyball. The research sample included (297) at a rate of (46.69%) of the original research community of players of the Iraqi university teams. The researchers used the sports anxiety scale that they built and the self-esteem scale as a tool for collecting data. The research was applied to a sample of (55). The researchers used the statistical package (SPSS) to obtain (percentage, standard deviation, arithmetic mean, (T) test, Pearson correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Guttman's coefficient for split-half).The researchers concluded:1- The effectiveness of the sports anxiety scale for the research sample, which was built by the researchers.2- The effectiveness of the self-esteem scale for the research sample, which was prepared by the researchers.3- The research sample enjoyed a high level of sports anxiety.4- The research sample enjoyed an average level of self-esteem.5- There is no correlation between sports anxiety and self-esteem among players of some team games.
