Transportation and Space Development: Wana District as an Example
Abstract
Transportation in all its different patterns is a pivotal axis in achieving features of spatial development due to its role in improving accessibility and integration among production sites and societal services, which contributes in improving quality of life. Therefore, this research aims at analyzing mutual relationship between automobile transportation roads , pillars of spatial development in Wana District And level of spatial interaction with centers of neighboring administrative units . Researcher adopted spatial analysis method, applied statistical methods and models. All these elements used in research affirm efficiency of automobile transportation roads of 142 km in creating spatial development in the following percentages : 63% for population properties, 86% for human settlements, 91% for health and educational services, their effect on variables of agricultural production scored a percentage of 49%, and industrial production with 44%. Morever, there are high levels of integrative relationships with Mosul centre which promotes rural spatial development . Such relation decreases with smallest and remotest administrative centres from Wana district on the regional level of Nineveh governorate.
