Abstract

The current research aims to identify (the effect of educational activities on the acquisition of language skills among fourth-grade primary school students). To achieve the goal of the study, the researchers followed the experimental approach, which includes an experimental design with experimental and control groups, and teaching the experimental group using educational activities while teaching the control group in the traditional way. The researcher intentionally selected fourth-grade students from Al-Naba Al-Azim Primary School affiliated with Al-Kadhimiya District in Baghdad Governorate for the academic year (2023 - 2024). The research sample consisted of (60) students, with (30) students in the experimental group and (30) students in the control group. The researchers found parity between the two study groups in a number of the following variables (chronological age in months, general average in the third grade, grade in the reading subject in the third grade, and the level of academic achievement of the father and mother). The researcher personally studied the two study groups and identified the scientific material that included (9) topics from Topics for the first semester of reading for fourth-grade primary school students. The researcher formulated behavioral goals based on the first three levels of Blooms taxonomy (knowledge, understanding, application). The number reached (65) behavioral goals. He prepared teaching plans for the topics, and the researcher prepared a language skills test (Listening, Speaking), which included (30) items and consisted of (12) questions for the listening skill from multiple choice and (18) questions for the speaking skill from a note card.
