The Role of the Intelligentsia in Promoting the Arab Human Rights(Political Perspective)

. . . .In any nation in general and in the Arab Nation in particular, intelligentsias play a significant and essential role not only in promoting but also in preserving human rights. The question of human rights has become one of the most important issues under discussion in the world of today. Theorization for human rights tackles intelligentsias, thinkers and writers, in the Arab World. Intelligentsias have firmly adopted the issue of democracy and human rights, in the face of prevailing dictatorships in various regions in the Arab World.The study hypothesizes that a great deal of military and political reasons of defeats, that faced the Arab Nation, destroying its patriotic and national goals and making depression and moral barrenness control the Arabic citizen's mentality, was due to depriving that citizen of the basic rights and liberties, not to mention the absence of the intelligentsias' active role in keeping these rights and liberties.Accordingly, we see that the intelligentsia is not required to make a political movement or take political stands opposing the current regimes, yet to shoulder responsibilities in urging these regimes to perform their duties in achieving what they have legally committed themselves to carry out according to the international agreements. And that the intelligentsia has to gather for this aim all its professional and intellectual capacities with the aid of human rights international organization.
