Abstract

The research aims of identifying The effect of using the Cognitive Instruction Model on third grade female students Achievement at the female teachers training Institute /ninavah Mosul and thier Attitudes towards The research sample consisted (61) third grade female students at the female teachers training Institute in Mosul for the academic year (2009-2010). The two researchers prepared an achievement test that consisted of (25) itemes. In addition the two researchers applied the attitude measurement towards mathematics wich has been prepared by Shukri sayed Ahmed (1986) in wich has (15) items, for analysing the results statistically,the statistical methods have ufilized Pearson correlation coefficient for extracting stability as well as the T-test for two independent samples,The results show that there is a statistically significant different in a chievement between the test group and the control group in favor of the test group, and no significant diffrernce towards mathematics in favor of the control group .The tow researchers have suggested a group of recommendations that include:1- training the mathematics teachers using the conitive instructive model in teaching mathematics using continous teaching courses.2- Using the congritive instruction model by taking into consideration variable of intelligence and investigating its effect on mathematical thinking and achievement.
