The Effect of Using Units Method in Acquiring Fiqh Concepts by Students of Islamic Education Department College of Basic Education / University of Mosul
Abstract

This research aims at defining the effect of using units method on the acquisition of Fiqh concepts by students of Islamic Education Department / College of Basic Education / University of Mosul . The sample consisted of (57) students recruited from the third year of Islamic Education Department / College of Basic Education / University of Mosul. This sampleis divided into two groups , experimental (39)students using units method and control (28) using traditional method . The researcher equalized both groups in the variables of intelligence , age , average of Islamic education science in the academic year 2006-2007 . Due to the absence of specialized ready made tool to measure Fiqh concepts , the researcher prepared a new tool consisting of (36) multiple choice items . The reliability , stability , difficulty and distinction of the material were verified , and the statistical tools were (T-test and Kudor Richardson equation) . The researcher found a statistically significant difference between both groups and in favor of the experimental group using units method . Given the above mentioned results , the researcher gave a number of recommendations such as the use of teaching methodologies center to give teachers courses to view the various methodologies to be applied in their career. As for the suggestions, the researcher recommended initiate a study about how units method can be used with other variables like trends , directions or skills .
