It occupied remarkable place in Arabic literature for it's poetic tales, creating new language, as well as its themes that dealt with Arab society problems. All these reasons were enough to make his works chosen for study and research. What motivated the researcher to choose this novel is that its context could be subject for many instruments and its contextual body inspired critics. Among these instruments I have chosen the desire and expatriation themes, since the researcher considers the most convenient introduction to the text and interaction with it is through the conflict that occurred between the desired (I) and the expatriate (I).Dry sea winter novel consisted of five chapters with different titles (Sadness spring, Lutchya & the remembrance, short drama, The traveler train, Crowning party), the events of this novel happened at one place and time. In spite of it's events diversity and the multiplicity of it's characters, The researcher have found that it works on one form of the conflict. For this reason the title of the research came as (desire & expatriation in dry sea winter novel). I depended on the description of the two themes employing their application by taking into consideration the use of their evidences. The researcher got away from theorizing which took wide area by the critics attempting through five chapters to discover the cases which made both axes of the conflict (desire expatriation). The researcher concluded his research by clarifying many issues that Ikhlasee has built his novel on. Also the researcher tackled the writer thinking and his treatment of the society questions. Finally, what the researcher have done is not more than a reading attempt for one of the original texts of the creative Arabic literature.
