Basketball is characterized by its fast rhythm and continues maneuvers between attack and defense all over the match. Basketball has recently developed globally and this is obvious for each one watching the match in international and Olympic championships. The study problem is that the accuracy of free throw shooting depends on applying biomechanic basis of shooting that could be revealed through analysis by using developed instruments to examine mechanical relations in order to improve skill level and accuracy of free throw shooting. The study aims at: - Identifying some biokinematic variables when performing free throw in basketball for basic education players. - Making some comparisons of some biokinematic variables among basic education college players and national team players while performing free throw in basketball. The two researchers hypothesized the following: There are statistical differences of some biokinematic variables among basic education college players and national team players while performing free throw in basketball in favor for national team players. The two researchers used the descriptive approach for its suitability to the study. The study sample consisted of (4) basketball players from basic education college team Mosul University. Video filming and computer analysis were used as means for collecting data. Then the two researchers used the following programs according to their functions: If lima to transfer film from Dat to MPEG, Premear to cut the photos into single and consecutive photos, ACD to determine the important starts and ends to be analyzed, AUTO CAD 2000 to derive data for distances, dimensions and heights for each photo and Excel for tackling data. Statistical means were used including mean, statistical deviation and T test. The two researchers concluded the following:- There is a difference in shoulder angle when starting among national team players and basic education college players for the favor of national team players. - There is a difference in ankle angle when starting among national team players and basic education college players for the favor of national team players. - There is a difference in each angle of ball movement angle and speed in addition to start point height when starting among national team players and basic education college players for the favor of national team players.
