The formal and semantic structure in the drawings of the artist Raied Farhan
Abstract
This research is concerned with studying the formal and semantic structure in the drawings of the artist Raed Farhan. The research included four chapters, the general framework of the research, in which the problem of the research and the need for it were identified, along with an explanation of its importance and quality. The problem of the research was the intellectual pressure reflected in its effect on the formal and semantic structure achieved aesthetically in Drawings by Raed Farhan. The research goal included revealing the formal and semantic structure in the drawings of the artist Raed Farhan. This was followed by establishing the boundaries of the research, after which the terms related to the title were defined, and then presenting the theoretical framework and indicators that resulted from academic theorizing of the subject. The researcher identified three implicit titles within this. The framework to ensure reading the research topic according to its various definitional frameworks was the first sectionthe concept of structuralism. The second section is the concept of form and its uses in art, while the third section is devoted to a historical introduction to the experience and life of the artist Raed Farhan. The third chapter was devoted to research procedures by identifying the studied population and the selected sample (4 paintings), then determining the research tool and defining its methodology, followed by analyzing the sample. The fourth chapter included the research results, including 1- The balance and harmony of the work units became generally apparent within the artists works. The dominant mass shows an influential center that the colored shapes around it cannot influence. 2- For the artist, space constitutes an aesthetic and semantic element through a design system, as we notice a space with geometric abstraction in addition to the traditional drawing that is often at the forefront of the work
