Techniques of Acting Performance in Documentary Theatre Productions: paly of 'Al-Midan Square' as a Model."
Abstract
Documentary theater relies on documenting real-life events and then re-presenting them to the audience through the actors performance. Acting performance techniques depend on the actors ability to embody realistic characters with integrity and honesty, which requires the actor to have high skill in conveying feelings and situations realistically by reviving them as they happened and delivering them to the recipient using directing techniques. Various techniques enhance believability, such as the visual presentation of documentary evidence, and multimedia, such as video and audio recordings in the background while actors interact with them on stage, which makes it easier for the recipient to interact with the event. The research included four chapters. The first chapter was the methodological framework and included the research's problem, importance, objectives, and limits. Then, the terminology was defined. The second chapter (theoretical framework) included two sections. The first is theater references: documentary and the second is acting performance in documentary theatre. The third chapter (research procedures) included an analysis of the 'Al-Midan Square' research sample play. The fourth chapter included the most prominent results, conclusions, sources, and references.
