Geographical Analysis of Sustainable Urban Development Indicators in Amiryah Town, Anbar Governorate
Abstract
The aim of this study is to compare the indicators of sustainable urban development and their weights in Iraq and the Anbar Governorate. To do this, the research will analyse the indicators of sustainable urban development in the city of Amriyah and compare them with those indicators' weights there. The results of the field survey and the data at hand revealed that the city of Amriyah is following a municipal trend in embracing the idea of sustainable urban development. The development of the level of community services aimed at supporting the city's citizens and enhancing quality of life in it, as well as the sustainability of transportation networks and new highways that opened the city and pulled it out of its isolation. Along with improving infrastructure network efficiency and adaptability to the city's growing population, other sustainable urban development indicators also varied in their support of the 2030 sustainable urban development agenda, showing both positive and negative trends.
