Abstract

The high poverty rate in the study area due to the deterioration of the agricultural sector because it is the basis of the rural economy. The production of agricultural crops is of great importance as it is the main food for the population. It also provides the requirements for livestock and raw materials for many industries. Agricultural development is one of the most important means that can contribute In improving agricultural production, which helps advance the wheel of economic development, which is reflected positively in reducing the phenomenon of poverty. Therefore, the main goal of this research was to study and analyze the most important natural and human components of agriculture, and to identify the most prominent obstacles and limitations of agricultural production that were reflected in the increase in the poverty rate. In the countryside of Salah al-Din Governorate. The study revealed that the countryside of the study area suffers from a high poverty rate, reaching 27.5% in 2023. The study showed that the natural and human conditions in the study area are suitable for growing many crops, which contributes effectively to achieving comprehensive agricultural development if invested correctly.
