Consolidating the values of citizenship through the human rights and democracy curriculum for students of humanities faculties at the University of Mosul from their point of view

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the extent to which the values of citizenship are consolidated through the human rights and democracy curriculum among students of humanities faculties at the University of Mosul from their point of view. )2022) and its members totaled )159( male and female students as a whole, with (66) male and female students from the College of Education for Pure Sciences from the Physics and Chemistry departments, including (32) male and (34) female students and (93) male and female students from the College of Education for Human Sciences from the two departments. History, educational and psychological sciences, including (48) male and (45) female students. The researchers prepared the research tool (citizenship values), which consisted of (74) paragraphs in its final form, distributed into four areas: values: (social (22) paragraphs, political (9) Paragraphs, legal (24) paragraphs, ethical (19) paragraphs, with five alternatives, which are in a degree (very large, large, medium, few, very few), and its validity, stability and strength to distinguish the paragraphs have been verified. The researchers applied the tool through which to take opinions The members of the research sample were students, as it was applied on Sunday (28/ 11/2021 and continued until Monday (27/12/2021) on the members of the research sample, and after data collection and statistical analysis using the t-test for two independent samples, Pearson correlation coefficient, reference mean, relative weight, the researchers reached the following results :1- Social values ranked first among the types of citizenship values with a percentage of (%72.33), while moral values achieved the second rank with (%71.62) and legal values, which achieved the third rank with (%71.15), while political values achieved the fourth rank with (%69.32) Straight.2- Social values ranked first among the types of citizenship values with a percentage of (%75.48), while moral values achieved the second rank with (%75.43), legal values ranked third with a percentage of (%74.51), and political values ranked fourth with a percentage of (%73.41( percent. straight.3- There is a statistically significant difference at the significance level (0.05) between the mean scores of the research sample membersIn consolidating the values of citizenship through the human rights and democracy approach and for the benefit of the female research sample. The researchers came out with a set of conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.
