Abstract

The research showed that there is a spatial and temporal variation of the phenomenon of polygamy in the study area, as its percentage reached (7.1%) in 1997, while the percentage increased in 2021 to become (20.6%) of the total married to another wife, and the spatial discrepancy between the administrative units of the phenomenon appeared. Polygamy in relation to the environment, as the percentage in the urban areas of the study area was (5%) in 1997, while it was recorded in the countryside (9%), while the percentage was recorded (16%) in the urban area, while the rural rate was (26.2%) for the year 2021.
