Abstract

The aim of writing this research paper is to study the Connotations of Words in a prophetic hadith, that is to say, the hadith of great Sins; because that hadith has multiple meanings, and any Muslim should contemplate on it carefully, particularly, to know those words and to understand their meanings, and that could help him in avoid of those major sins, and as a result, both the Muslim individuals life, and the Muslim society's life will be on the correct track. The research paper is split into three sections: the first section: Heart-based major sins, which consist of polytheism and charm-making. The second section related to the major sins of deeds which includes murdering a person, although that wrong doing has forbidden by Allah, except for a legal purpose, squandering orphans properties illegally, and fleeing from fighting of the enemies. The third section tackles the major sins of sayings, like slanderous attacks on married women without their own knowledge. The research paper has reached to the conclusion that Muslims must avoid those major sins which the prophet has warned us of them, because they lead to losing human rights, violating his life, and disintegrating of the community.
