Geographical Analysis of Wooden Industry and its Problems in Ninevah

The wooden furniture industry is one of the branches of the manufacturing industry. Its importance is highlighted across Iraq in general, and Nineveh Governorate in particular, due to its significant role in supporting the national economy and attracting diverse production requirements. The study aims to reveal the importance of the wooden furniture industry in terms of its geographical distribution, identify the most significant problems facing the wooden furniture industry, their impact on the ecosystem, and their repercussions. It also aims to identify the solutions required to mitigate the health and environmental problems resulting from these industries in the study area. To achieve this, a descriptive and analytical approach was adopted. Data was tabulated into statistical tables and converted to percentages for comparison across administrative units. Maps and graphs were also used. The study relied on official publications from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Information Technology Department, and municipal departments located in the study area, as well as field studies for the years 2024 and 2025.The study concluded that the most important of which was the presence of spatial variation within the study area at the administrative unit level in the number of factories for the year 2025.
