Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of the Stepans model in correcting misperceptions of Islamic concepts among second-grade intermediate students to achieve the goal of the research. the researcher formulated two null hypotheses. which are as follows:1-There is no statistically significant difference at the significance level of 0.05 between the mean of the difference in the pre and post tests for the experimental group that studied according to the Stepans model and the average difference between the pre and post tests for the control group that studied according to the usual method in the Islamic concepts test.2- There is no statistically significant difference at the significance level of 0.05 between the average scores of the experimental group who studied according to the Stepans model and the average in the post-test Islamic concepts.As for the research sample. it was randomly selected from the research community for second year intermediate students of Tigris High School affiliated with the Nineveh Representative in the city of Dohuk for the first course of the academic year (2021-2022). and its number was (64) students distributed in two experimental and control groups. with (34) students for the group The experimental group. which was taught according to the Stepans model. and (30) for the control group. which was taught according to the usual method.The researcher used the experimental and descriptive approaches. and the equivalence process was conducted between the members of the two research groups in a number of variables that included: age in months. degree of Islamic education for the first intermediate class. the general average for the first intermediate class. intelligence quotient. a tribal test of Islamic concepts. a tribal test for religious awareness. and the scientific level For parents.To achieve the goal of the research. the researcher prepared a tool. which is a test of concepts. and the test was characterized by honesty and stability.After completing the study plans and the tool. the researcher applied the experiment to a sample of female students and extended from 11/15/2021 to 5/1/2022 for the first course. and the post-test Islamic concepts was applied on 1/1/2022 on the two research groups. and data was collected and analyzed. and then reached A number of findings. recommendations and suggestions. including:1- The Stepans model has proven its effectiveness in correcting the misunderstanding of Islamic concepts among second-grade middle school students in comparison with the usual method. as Islamic concepts are a basic building block in the educational process.2-The necessity of Islamic education teachers interest in diagnosing students concepts and extracting patterns of common conceptual errors before and during the teaching process.3- The effect of the Stepans model in correcting misperceptions of Islamic concepts among first-year intermediate students and developing their critical thinking.
