Abstract
Argumentative description in the poetic oppositions of the poet Ahmad Shawqi (d. 1351 AThe argumentative discourse - as it is known - tries to invest everything that would achieve the persuasive goal, and among the linguistic means adopted by the means of description, as description is one of the means of linguistic communication used by the Arabic language, used in order to reveal the features and characteristics of people and things. described; To bring it closer or shape it to the mind of the recipient, it is one of the important elements in the argumentative discourse and the course of its persuasive process, as it works to bring about communication, confirmation and conveying the message; Intended to alert the recipient and get him to comply with its content. The description of our elected poet Ahmed Shawqi did not stop at a specific type in his poetry, especially his poetic oppositions - the course of our research - rather we find him fully aware of the importance of description and its effective contribution to achieving persuasion. They are: the singular adjective, and the adjective in bulk.
