Abstract

The research undertakes the task of examining the metaphorical formation in the poem Nahj al-Burda by the prince of poets, Ahmed Shawqi, by identifying the metaphorical structure resulting from the unusual semantic relationships between the vocabulary of the poetic text, and their harmony with each other, and contributing to the formulation of the metaphorical formation in the poem. The method adopted by the research carried Application of the role of these relationships in producing the graphic image, in addition to the interest in analysis in the relationship of metaphor to thought and mind, in which the role of language has emerged greatly; This is because metaphor is a combination of language and thought, as it requires the use of the mind and thought to reach its contents and the magic of the eloquence of its images. This is what the research plans for itself, and it is based on the sayings of scholars and their research on metaphor in both its declarative and spatial types, accompanied by taste analysis through the innate nature of seeing and reading To provide conviction to the reader, as well as to escape from randomness and interference.
