The Impact of an Educational Program for Psychosocial and Social Support for Children Survivors from the Ferry sink in Nineveh Governorate
Abstract
The aim of the current research is to know the impact of the psychosocial support program for investigating Post-traumatic stress disorder PTSD and to know the differences between the pre and post tests for Post-traumatic stress disorder PTSD, and for the purpose of achieving this, the two researchers have constructed the Post-traumatic stress disorder PTSD measure for children (affected by the phrase incident) consisting of (15) items and a support program Psychosocial consists of (12) lessons that include a group of activities (recreational, artistic, sports, emotional, social, play, imagination), and after extracting the truth and consistency of the research tools, they were applied to the research sample that included (13) students, of whom (4) were survivors from the accident of the ferry sink and (9) of those who lost one of their family members in the accident, all of whom were from Al-Mubdee'oon Elementary Private School. And after the statistical treatment of the data, the results indicated that the program used led to a reduction of Post-traumatic stress disorder PTSD among the sample members, as the differences in disturbances for the pre and post tests were in favor of the post test. In light of these results, the two researchers formulated a set of recommendations and proposals.
