This study seeks to find out the animal words narrated by Al-Asmai in Ghareeb Al-Hadith by Ibn Al-Jawzi, through a descriptive and inductive approach, and then analyze these narrations by returning the words contained in those narrations to their origins, whether they are three- or four-literal origins, and then investigating the subjective meaning of those words in dictionaries. Linguistics, ancient and modern, then trying to reveal the shades of words and the role that context plays in determining the meaning of words by taking advantage of the syntactic level around which the meaning contained in the text will be centered. The research presented in its two sections: a summary of the life of Al-Asmai and Ibn Al-Jawzi, semantics, and the semantic field of animal words and what is related to it.The research drew its material from the best books that our Arabic library abounds with, including: dictionaries, books of the noble hadith, and books of strange hadiths.
