The Level Of Strategic Leadership For Middle School Principals In Nineveh Governorate
Abstract
The objective of the current research is to identify the level of strategic leadership of middle school principals in Nineveh Governorate.The research sample consisted of (288) male and female teachers who were selected from the city of Mosul and the displaced schools affiliated to the Nineveh Education Representation in Dohuk Governorate for the academic year 2021/2022.To achieve the objectives of the research, the two researchers built a tool to measure the level of strategic leadership among middle school principals from the point of view of male and female teachers, consisting of (46) items, and the stability was extracted using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which amounted to (0.83).After collecting and analyzing the data, it was processed statistically using the t-test for one sample, the t-test for two independent samples, and Pearson's correlation coefficient.The researchers concluded that:- Middle school principals have an above-average level in practicing strategic leadership in general and according to scale areas.- There is no statistically significant difference in the level of strategic leadership, as it was shown according to the variable of the teacher's gender and specialization, and this means that teachers, regardless of their gender and specialization, have similar views towards the strategic leadership of their principals.A set of recommendations and proposals were presented, including:- Instructing the Directorate of Training and Evaluation to involve school principals in giving lectures to principals in training courses.- Conducting a research dealing with the relationship of strategic leadership with the personality traits of school principals at the secondary stage.
