Abstract

This research aimed to study the impact of using podcasts and videos as one of the new forms of public media technology in Iraq, in terms of audience interaction and preference for the content provided, in order to provide recommendations to improve the quality of media content and increase public interaction through the use of new media technology. The main hypothesis is that these media New technologies greatly affect the quality of the audiences interaction and preference for media content. The research relied on the descriptive and analytical approach, and data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to 100 Iraqi podcast listeners and viewers, and their opinions and experiences were analyzed using computer statistical analysis tools such as the SPSS program. The results showed that there is a very high level of factors influencing the importance of podcasts and videos as new media, with the public preferring Iraqi podcast content as a source of information and entertainment. The results also indicated that content quality, diversity, and ease of access are key factors that increase audience preference for podcasts. Recommendations include increasing production investments, improving marketing strategies, developing interaction with the public through direct communication channels and interactive events, improving broadcast technology and access by developing easy-to-use applications, launching awareness campaigns and offering workshops, focusing on providing content that addresses important issues, and continuous research and development to follow up.
