Abstract

The armedKurdish movement that the PKK started in Turkey since August 1984 was not only an internal matter, but it has also become increasingly a foreign policy issue also through its influence in Turkey's international and regional relations. This paper examines the positions of Turkeys Middle Eastern neighbors (Iraq, Syria, Iran). ) Towards the Kurdish armed movement in Turkey from its beginning in 1984 until the Syrian-Turkish crisis in October 1998, the research analyzes these positions in the light of common security interests and concerns, as for Iraq until 1990 and then the Kurdish administration in Iraqi Kurdistan since 1992.
