Abstract

Since 1990, the fears of Syria and Iraq have been gradually increasing toward the possibility that southeastern Anatolia projects in Turkey will lead to a decrease in the quantities of water coming from them from the Euphrates and Tigris rivers, due to Turkey's resort to dictating giant dams such as Kiban, Qara Qaya and Ataturk with the water of the Euphrates and Beer Jake and Alessio are in the waters of the Tigris River, which will harm the economic and social sectors of Syria and Iraq, as happened in 1990 when Turkey cut off the waters of the Euphrates River to fill the reservoir of the Ataturk Dam for a whole month. The gravity and severity of the effects resulting from the establishment of Turkish water projects on Syria and Iraq increases, with the increase in the problem of river pollution resulting from the misuse of Turkish peasants to chemical fertilizers and pesticides, in a manner that threatens the safety and health of the Syrian and Iraqi citizens, as well as its threat to the plant and animal environment after Turkey goes a long way.
