Guide for Authors

AUTHORS' GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

Authors should submit their manuscripts electronically through the Journal website submission system, to the Editorial Office. Website of TANMIYAT AL-RAFIDAIN Journal (TANRA): https://tanmiyat.uomosul.edu.iq

It is first and foremost required that the manuscript be formatted according to the TANRA Template, without author's name (MS Word Version). Our review is double-blind, so based on the TANRA Template (for Blind Review), any information related to your identity must be removed. This includes the name, affiliation, email, etc., if any.

Please download the TANRA template from the following links and complete the title page accordingly. Use the A-Manuscript template for manuscripts written in Arabic, and the E-Manuscript template for manuscripts written in English.

1- E-Manuscript template (English)

2- A-Manuscript template (Arabic)

3- Title Page

1. PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS

Manuscripts must be submitted in one of the two languages, either Arabic or English, and should be written according to sound grammar (writing & spelling) and proper terminology. Hence, manuscripts should be written in (20) pages using (A4) paper for typing, with margins (3.5 cm from the right and left, 4 cm from the top, and 5 cm from the bottom in MS Word, typed in Simplified Arabic (12 points) for Arabic and Times New Roman (12 points) for English, with type (as a small chida) and spacing between lines (single).

Manuscript submission must be applied for once to obtain only one submission ID number. The manuscript must be accompanied by a title page including title and the author(s )' names and their affiliations and e-mails. We have prepared two manuscript templates to help authors when submitting their research papers to our journal: E-manuscript template for English language, A-Manuscript template for Arabic language

1.1. Arabic or English Language Writing

All publications in the TANMIYAT AL-RAFIDAIN are either in English or Arabic. Therefore, authors should make sure their manuscript is written in correct language, grammatically and idiomatically, before submission. Authors who do not speak Arabic or English as their first language should ensure that their research manuscripts are written in Arabic or English grammar before submission. Please write your text in good Arabic or English.

1.2. New Submission

Submission to TANRA journal proceeds totally online, and authors will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of the manuscript files. As part of the manuscript, authors may choose to submit the manuscript as a single file to be used in the refereeing process. This can be a Word document (*.doc or *.docx), that can be used by referees to evaluate the manuscript. All figures and tables are encouraged to be embedded and included in the main manuscript file.

1.3. References

A references list must be provided according to the TANRA references format using the American Psychological Association Guide (APA: 6th). Our journal strongly encourages the use of the Digital Object Identification Number (DOI). Find the References Style Guide in the following link References Style Guide

1.4. Revised Submissions

Regardless of the file format of the original submission, at revision, the authors are instructed to submit their manuscript in TANRA format as a Word document (*.doc or *.docx). Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. To avoid unnecessary errors, the authors are strongly advised to use the 'spell-check' and 'grammar-check' for the submitted manuscript. At this stage, the author's name, affiliation, emails, and ORCID should be inserted in the main manuscript file.

2. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE

Manuscript literature and tenses must be structured as: Title (Arabic & English), Abstract (Arabic & English), Keywords (Arabic & English), introduction, materials and methods, results and Discussion, Conclusion & Recommendations, Acknowledgements (if any), Notice of conflict of interest (if any), References (preferably in Roman letters); Appendix (if any) … all these items are submitted in a file (word document) with a limited size.

2.1. Title Page

The first page of the manuscript (Arabic & English) includes the title of the research, followed by a one-line space and the names of all authors with their affiliations and emails.

2.2. Manuscript Title

The title of the manuscript should not exceed 17 words, and it is preferable not to contain the names of locations, countries, or cities of the research as well as abbreviations. Avoid complicated and technical expressions and do not use vague expressions.

2.3. Abstract

An abstract (Arabic & English) of 150 to 250 words that sketches the purpose of the study, basic procedures (design/methodology/approach), main findings, its novelty, discussions, and the principal conclusions and originality. Also, the abstract should not contain any abbreviations or references.

2.4. Keywords

Provide 3 to 5 keywords that can be used for indexing purposes. Keywords should not repeat the words of the manuscript title or contain abbreviations.

2.5. Highlights/important notes

Authors should focus on writing their research manuscripts in concise and linguistic terms and clarify the basic results of the research through paragraphs highlighting the research.

2.6. Introduction

2.7. Materials and Methods

Provide sufficient details to enable the experiments to be reproduced. Support the techniques and methods used with references. Metric and standard international units must be used throughout the manuscript. The computer program used in the statistical analysis should also be defined with the definition of statistical terms, abbreviations and symbols used

2.8. Results

Present the results and their significance. Graphs and tables should be self-explanatory. Do not repeat in figures or in the text the data presented in tables. Tables and figures should be numbered in the order of their mention in the text.

2.9. Discussion

Deals with critical review and interpretations of the results and is supported by relevant updated references. Repetition of data should be avoided. It should end with brief conclusions. In a short manuscript, results and discussion may be combined.

2.10. Conclusion & Proposals

This section should highlight the main and consistent discoveries of the present manuscript and determine the value added of the main result without mentioning any scientific references.

2.11. Acknowledgements

Acknowledgments of people (who have contributed significantly to the research and do not meet the criteria of the authors participating in the research), grants, funds, etc., should be placed in a separate section before the reference list. The names of funding organizations should be written in full. Financial support affiliation of the study, if it exists, must be mentioned in this section. Thereby, the Grant number of financial support must be included.

2.12. Conflict of Interest

A conflict-of-interest statement must be placed at the manuscript as below: "The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this manuscript".

2.13. References

The list of references contains any reference referred to in the body of the manuscript, so it must be included in the list of references and vice versa. All references of various types (for example: periodicals, books, theses, journals, official documents, bulletins, etc.) should be placed in one list at the end of the manuscript. It is preferable to write all references in Roman letters to control the work of the citation system in the journal when belonging to a global container. In case of references in Arabic and English, Arabic has been placed first and then references in English. References are also arranged alphabetically by author's last name, year of publication, title of book or research, country, and publisher.

3. Figures

All figures must be of good quality and are cited in the text with Arabic numerals by writing “Figure 1” or “Figures 1 and 2.” If the word appears at the beginning of a sentence, it is to be spelled out as Figure 1 or Figures 1 and 2. Place the figure caption positioned below it as close as possible to their first mention in the text.

4. Tables

Tables should be numbered consecutively in the paper and must be cited in the text by writing “Table 1” or “Tables 1 and 2. Tables are to be placed as close as possible to their first mention in the text, and the caption is positioned above them.

6. PLAGIARISM PREVENTION AND VIOLATION OF PUBLICATION ETHICS

All manuscripts under review or published with TANRA are subject to screening using plagiarism prevention software called “iThenticate”. Plagiarism is a serious violation of publication ethics. Other violations include duplicate publication, data fabrication and falsification, and improper credit for author contributions. Thus, plagiarism, fraud, or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior, and submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. It is necessary to mention that the TANRA Journal may ignore a duplicated manuscript by up to 20%.

7. OPEN ACCESS PUBLICATION

TANRA publishes research work covering a wide range of management and business, and related fields. All papers published in TANRA are open access and distributed under the open access license agreement. Under this license, authors retain copyright to their work without restrictions but allow anyone to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute, and/or copy the content as long as the original authors and source are properly cited.

8. CREATIVE COMMON ATTRIBUTION

Permit others to distribute and copy the manuscript, to create extracts, abstracts, and other revised versions, adaptations, or derivative works of or from the manuscript (such as a translation), to include in a collective work, to text or data mine the article, even for commercial purposes, as long as they credit the author(s), do not represent the author as endorsing their adaptation of the article, and do not modify the article in such a way as to damage the author's honor or reputation. Further details can be found at: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

9. ARTICLE PUBLICATION FEES

Open access publishing proposes a relatively new model for scholarly journal publishing that provides worldwide, barrier-free access to the full text of all published articles. Open access allows all interested readers to view, download, print, and redistribute any article without a financial subscription, enabling far greater distribution of an author's work than the traditional subscription-based publishing model. In the open access form, the cost of publishing the manuscript is provided by the author's research budget or by the institution supporting it, is paid.

In addition, authors who publish in the Open Access TANMIYAT AL-RAFIDAIN Journal retain copyright for their work, which is issued under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International, allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction of the manuscript published in any medium on the condition that they cite the original work correctly. TANMIYAT AL-RAFIDAIN Journal is an open-access journal and requires the author(s) to pay for publishing their manuscripts, which will be collected when submitting the research to the journal. The amount to be paid upon submission of the research manuscript is US $100, which is equivalent to 125,000 Iraqi dinars.
