Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of the Parman Model in developing parsing skills in Arabic for fourth-year scientific students. To achieve this goal, the researcher chose an experimental research design with both experimental and control groups. The research population consisted of fourth-year scientific students from preparatory schools in the center of Nineveh Governorate, with a sample size of 62 students. The experimental group consisted of 32 students, while the control group included 30 students. The researcher ensured that the two groups were equivalent in terms of several variables. The experimental group was taught using the Parman Model, while the control group was taught using the traditional method. The research was applied over a full academic semester. The researcher developed a test to measure basic parsing skills, which consisted of 50 multiple-choice items. The test was administered to a pilot sample of 100 students to check its psychometric properties. At the end of the experiment, the results showed the effectiveness of the Parman Model in developing parsing skills in Arabic for fourth-year scientific students
