The effect of picture reading strategy on the achievement of second primary school female pupils in the English language
Abstract
The current research aims to know )The effect of using picture reading strategy on the achievement of second-primary school female pupils in the English language )To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher chose the experimental design method, the researcher formulated the following hypothesis:There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average mean scores of the female pupils in the experimental group , who were taught by using picture reading strategy, and mean scores the female pupils of the control group, who were taught by using traditional method in the achievement test.The current research community is represented by primary schools for girls in the city of Mosul, the sample of the current research it consisted of (59) female pupils in the second grade of primary school for the academic year (2023-2024). They were divided into two groups, The experimental group and control groups that were equivalent in terms of variables) Chronological age calculated in months, IQ, students grades in the English language subject for the first grade, general average for the first grade, Fathers educational attainment, and Mothers educational attainment). The sample consisted (59) second grade female pupils in Al Awda First Primary School for Girls were chosen randomly to represent the experimental and control group, The researchers prepared the achievement test tool for the English language subjects, and its apparent validity was verified by presenting it to a group of peer-reviewed experts and specialists
