Attitudes towards using Private Computer forStudents of Basic Education Collegeand its Relation on Achievement in Mathematics
Abstract
. ( 1996) . . ( ). ( ). ( . ( ). ( ).The aim of the research is to discover the attitudes of second year students at the college of Basic Education towards using Private computer and its relation with achievement in Mathematics according to the gouls and hypotheses made by the researcher .To validate the hypotheses ,semantic trend toward using computer made by (Al-Aklaby & Mousa ,1996) was used .Though the scale is reliable, the researcher also made surface validity procedures and validity of Model, stability and inner coordinance of the scale items were calculated . The sample consisted of (100) male and female students of second year at the college of Basic Education .The results showed that attitudes of students to use computer were neutral, a statistical significant difference was found between the students who use computers and those who dont thus consequently , the first null hypothesis stating that (no statistical significant difference are found regarding the attitudes towards using computer as far as the variable of using or not using computer is concerned) was rejected. The results showed no statistical significant difference according to sex variable, and hence the second null hypothesis stating that (there are no statistical significant difference in attitudes towards using computer due to sex variable) was accepted. The results also showed a statistical significant relation between using computer and achievement in mathematics thus the third null hypothesis stating that (no statistical significant relation exist between using computer and achievement in mathematics for second year students of college of Basic Education). Also a statistical significant relation was found between using computer and achievement in mathematics according to sex variable , therefore ,the fourth null hypothesis stating that (no statistical significant relation is found between the attitude toward using computer and achievement grades in mathematics for second year students at the college of Basic Education according to sex variable) was rejected. Finally, the results showed the absence of statistical significant difference between the use of computer and achievement according to sex variable . Therefore, the fifth null hypothesis stating that (no statistical significant difference is found between the use of computer and achievement in mathematics according to sex variable) was realized.
