Concept of Composing Between Reality and Illusion
Abstract
( ) ( ) ( ) . : 1. () () . 2. ( ) . 3. .Composing has been used in linguistic studies, closely referring to its linguistic meaning: writing, and joining something to another. Composing in speech is arranging words in sentences and structures based on the functional meanings by such structures. Such structures are called meanings of syntax by the linguists as syntax is the field where such structures are examined and named, like subjective, objective adverbial and other cases. Arabic speech is composing, writing or forming words in accordance with a certain pattern based on standards derived from inducing Arab speech. This concept of composing is agreed upon by the all the linguists, and none of them claimed the creation of this concept, but all of them deal with it as one of principle notions in all languages. It is not a theory of Arabic language, as some of the modern scholars claim, and there is no reason to say that Sheik Abdul Qahir Al Jurjani may mercy of Allah be upon him found this theory, gave it a different concept, or make composing a title for what is later known as semantics. These ideas claimed by modern scholars have their own reasons and could be in my view summarized as follows: 1. The merge of the concept of composing in speech and theory of composing which scholars use to explain the Quranic miracle. Scholars varied in explaining reasons of Quranic miracle and they stated that Quran was a miracle in composing. Theory of composing was familiar as one of the theories used by the scholars to explain Quranic miracle. Using this phrase does not mean the confirmation of describing the theory of composing itself, but rather 2. It is well known that speech composing is different in accordance with context of situation and speech is, thus, rhetorically and fluently different. Rhetoricians have tried to derive rules of fluent speech from the Holy Quran, as Quran has the highest ranks of fluent, rhetorically speech. Al Jurjani's Jewels of Rhetoric is one of the examples for studying Quranic rhetoric for this purpose. He stated that composing is not restricted to variance and this is not a characteristic. However, the characteristic lies in speech agreement with context of situation and this makes us differentiate between the concept of patterns based on syntactic meanings and concept of context that rhetoric is based on. Not fully understanding Al Jurjani views make some falsely think that he has adopted a concept different from other scholars, and his repetition for such word in many positions supported such beliefs. 3. The inaccurate comparisons by some modern scholars, highly affected by modern western linguistic theories, of Al Jurjani concepts and such theories. Their admission of Sheik Al Jurjani's efforts indicate their admiration and their affect by western theories is faced by a deliberate ignorance of the vast efforts of Arab scholars.
