Abstract

The study aimed to build a measure of academic compatibility among middle school students in the city of Mosul, to identify the level of academic compatibility of students, as well as to identify the significance of differences in academic compatibility between members of the research sample according to a variable (gender, branch of study, geographical location).
As the basic research sample consisted of (800) male and female students, and at a rate of (7.5%) of the total community, they were chosen randomly from the preparations of the city of Mosul for the academic year (2019-2020) and distributed on (9) middle schools, of which (4) are on the right side of the city of Mosul and ( 5) Preparations from the left side of the city of Mosul, and in order to achieve the research objectives, the two researchers applied the study compatibility scale that the two researchers built, and the validity of the two scales was verified by adopting (apparent validity, construct validity, and self-validity). The internal consistency method using the Cronbach Alpha equation) and after applying the two tools, the data were statistically treated using the SPSS program, and the results showed the following:
1.The level of academic compatibility of middle school students within the intermediate level.
2.There are statistically significant differences in the academic compatibility between the members of the research sample according to a variable.
A- Sex (males - females) for the benefit of females.
B- The academic branch (the scientific branch - the literary branch) there is no statistically significant difference.
C- Geographical location (the right side - the left side) there is no statistically significant difference.
