Abstract

The emergence of gas in the eastern Mediterranean basin in large quantities,anneed for large and growing energy sources, accelerated the competition of the countries of the eastern Mediterranean basin to invest this wealth, attract major international companies in the field of energy for this investment, and solve the problems of maritime borders, by concluding demarcation agreements. The borders between them, as well as its organization undd the world’s er the umbrella of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum in Cairo. Armed conflict and political differences have cast their shadows on the reality of this region, which constituted an obstacle to progress in gas investment in some countries of the region, including Palestine - Gaza, Lebanon, And Syria, and in the face of all these challenges, the international player, especially the United States of America, Russia, and the European Union, played different roles in investing in eastern Mediterranean gas, reducing the intensity of the conflict, bringing viewpoints closer, concluding agreements to demarcate borders, and making political settlements and reconciliation between countries, for the purpose of continuing to achieve the best. Development opportunities for the countries of the Basin and the region in general, and this role played by the United States was clear over the past decade and is still present.
