Animal and ethical approval
The Journal of Education and Science (JES) requires manuscripts in the Biology science to include a statement of animal rights protection. This statement, typically found in the methods or acknowledgments section, should indicate review by an institutional review board. JES encourages authors to provide the council certification registry number. Manuscripts based on in vivo experiments must adhere to ARRIVE guidelines to avoid manuscript rejection.
The methods section must state that adequate measures were taken to minimize pain or discomfort in experimental animals. Experiments should adhere to guidelines from the International Animal Ethics Committee, the Institutional Ethics Committee, and local laws. All studies involving human or animal subjects must include a statement confirming ethics committee approval. Editors may reject papers if concerns arise regarding the appropriateness of the procedures.
