Abstract

This study included the isolation and identification ofStaphylococcus aureus (S.aureus )from different cutaneous infectionsincluding secondary pyoderma(wound and burn ) infections , Impetigocontagiosa, Folliculitis and Boils (Furuncles) . These patient were undertreatment in the emergency unit, and out patients of dermatology clinicboth within the Mosul Medical City.(24 ?)samples were collected, (155)of them were of (S. aureus ) by a ratio of ( 62.7%) . The highest rateS.aureus infection (76.1 %) was isolated in impetigo while the lowestrate ( 37.5%). There was different percentage of bacterial infectionaccording sex and age. The alcoholic and aquatic extracts were prepared. The inhibitory effect of the extracts of Lillium Candidum flowers ,Hedra helix leaves , Carduus Benedictus and Portulaca Oleracea leaveswas studied against all the isolated bacteria using disk diffusion methodcomparing with standard method and turbidity. In addition, the MinimumInhibitory Concentration ( MIC ) and the Minimum BactericidalConcentration (MBC) was determined for these extracts against thebacterial isolates under study. The results showed that the Alcoholic extract of PortulacaOleracea leaves had the best effect on bacteria.
